An Unforgettable Journey: How Oscar and Calido Turned Our Vacation into a Dream Adventure
For us, travelling means disconnecting from daily routines, overloading ourselves and focusing only on the beauty that surrounds us. To adopt a new rhythm, to slow down and enjoy the present moment, something that is sometimes difficult to do on a daily basis. Holidays are the best days of the year and we don't take them for granted. Having these precious days to enjoy as a family means a lot to us.
So, to make the most of our experience for our selected summer getaway this year, the Canary Islands, we were looking for a professional, a local agent, rather a connoisseur of the culture of life and the best place to visit, to help us and point us to some great options. With so many islands to choose from, the best places and places to visit, to fulfil all the dreams of all the family wishes and aspirations, we found the best person to help us achieve all the goals we had in mind for a wonderful holiday. That person is Oscar, the brains and heart behind Cálido. Born and raised on the main island of Gran Canaria, a man with deep experience in leisure and hospitality, he understood our desires well and immediately appointed the best programme that we could only imagine in our dreams. And what is a holiday for if not for daydreaming and living incredible experiences and creating unforgettable memories? Oscar suggested his best options and offered a wealth of knowledge about different scenarios.
Some of them were completely new to our idea of the perfect holiday, but we were absolutely intrigued. Perhaps it was their attention to detail, ensuring unique experiences or their passion for island life. We are truly grateful that we followed their lead and gave it a try. The island experience is breathtaking, wholesome and unique. We never thought a place would have so many faces to discover and the way you can discover them was fascinating. From sleeping on the peaks in one of the most authentic lodges above the clouds, from sleeping amongst the magical pine forest of the Tamadaba natural park, catamaran sailing in the dunes south of Maspalomas, visiting so many local fincas and wineries and tasting some of the delicious traditional food in unique settings, to snorkelling with blankets and watching sunsets on wild northern beaches with a campfire and the ocean creating music for all the senses. My son still says this was the best holiday of my life!!!!! Imagine that!!! Thank you, Oscar and your amazing team, for this very special discovery and for making our dreams come true.
