*a brief history of coffee:
The La Laja Estatelocated in the municipality of Agaete, in the north of Gran Canaria, has a history that dates back to the beginning of the 19th century. On this estate, coffee cultivation began in a unique environment, thanks to the climatic and geographical conditions of the area. The mountains of Agaete, with their special microclimate, offer mild temperatures, constant humidity and nutrient-rich volcanic soils, creating an ideal place for coffee growing.
Agaete's coffee, especially that of Finca La Laja, stands out for its unique taste and high quality, which comes from the combination of traditional cultivation techniques and modern processing methods. This farm is one of the only coffee producers in EuropeGran Canaria is one of the few regions on the continent where coffee is grown, making it a reference point for coffee lovers.
Over the years, the estate has managed to establish itself as one of the main producers of premium coffee in the Canary Islands, characterised by a smooth, fruity and low-acidity flavour. In addition to its coffee production, the farm has been a benchmark in the preservation of local biodiversity, integrating sustainable agricultural practices.
